What is my deadline to make a claim?

This all depends on what type of claim you have.  For basic negligence cases (accident cases against private entities), the statute of limitations is 3 years.  For cases against the City of New York and other public municipalities, the statute of limitations is generally 1 year and 90 days.  However, there are other deadlines that you must be aware of.

For example, for all car crash cases, there is a No-Fault deadline of 30 days.  For all cases involving a public municipality, there is a 90 day Notice of Claim deadline.   For general medical malpractice cases, the deadline is generally 2 ½ years from the last date of treatment with that provider.  Please contact my office if you have any questions about what deadlines apply to your case.
